LIUNA Local 1249 represents only Public Employees across Southeastern Massachusetts. Local 1249 was chartered August 26, 1968 in Falmouth, Massachusetts and consists of Public Employees from the South Shore & Cape Cod, with approximately 400 members being made up of various bargaining groups from the Towns of Acushnet, Bourne, Dartmouth, Dennis, Falmouth, Mashpee, Nantucket, Truro & Wareham.

In addition to being a member of LIUNA, Local 1249 is a member of the New England Region and Massachusetts and Northern New England District Council.

LIUNA has been at the forefront of representing Public Employees, establishing a dedicated Public Employee Department at the start, as well as extensive training courses, and Local 1249 has been actively on board with them for over 55 years. We're proud of our heritage and look forward to servicing our existing members, while at the same time bringing new members into our Union family.

The LIUNA Local 1249 elected Officers are listed below. The Executive Board manages & operates the Local, with the Business Manager being the representative of the Local and handling day-to-day business.
