MEMBER IN NEED OF ASSISTANCE

Local 1249 Brother Bradley Johnson’s young daughter, Mia, who is in the 2nd Grade at Wareham Elementary School, was recently diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia, an aggressive form of Cancer, and is undergoing chemotherapy treatment at Boston Children's Hospital.  Brad and his wife, Briana, have been dealing with this unexpected and terrible situation and would greatly appreciate any assistance that can be given.  Brad has used all of his his accrued paid time off and, even though his Collective Bargaining Agreement does not include Sick Leave Bank wording, the Town of Wareham has compassionately and gratefully allowed for employee donations of their time, so Brad can continue to get a paycheck and all of his benefits, including health insurance, as well as being with Mia as her treatments continue.  Additionally, Briana has set up a GoFundMe page to cover hospital stays, meals, lost income, etc. while Mia receives ongoing medical care and during her recovery process.
